Well, after my week off for working, there was Carnival. And after Carnival (which I will post about once I get photos from Carlos) I was a bit sick for a few days. I am now ready to write more about the wedding - but in the next post. Currently I have a more pressing issue.
Running.
I'm a very goal oriented person. I like to run, but I'm not the type to do it just because I feel like it. The reason I joined a running group in Holland was for accountability, as in, if I didn't show up the next day there would be people asking me where I was and wouldn't accept lame excuses like "I was studying," or "it was raining."
So, my Women and I are having a reunion in Baltimore this April. The other three are either training for marathons or half marathons or just love to run. The plan is that we will all run together, about 10 miles. Now for the disclosure (don't tell them): I haven't really run in six months. Unless you count sprinting away from hoses and water balloons during Carnival.
But back in Holland I went from running 4 miles twice a week to a half marathon in six weeks. So if I could do that, I can do this. And I'll be training at altitude, so running about 7 miles here will be like 10 miles at sea level. Right?

Hey Judith,
I ran a 10-mile race last May. I trained for 3 months. I had been running 1-2 miles almost every day for 5 months prior to starting to train. My friend did it with me, and she took 3 months to train as well. She had not been running leading up to the training. There is a website that I can send you that creates a training schedule for you.
